Enjoying bouquet making

This is a one day beginners workshop for anyone wishing to learn how to arrange flowers or are thinking of starting a career

You might just want a therapeutic day with flowers or start your own floristry business, either way this is the place to start your flowery adventure. I’ve designed a one day course to give you the skills to make your own arrangements so you will come away full of inspiration and enthusiasm for all things floral. I can provide you with details of my experience as a florist with insights into how to make money ( not all freelance florists do) and enjoy this multi-faceted career.

It is a practical, hands on course taught by Helen, a professional florist and flower grower, who will show you the skills of flower arranging . I will show you an eco friendly way to arrange without the use of green floral foam (called Oasis, it’s an oil by-product used by florists that never degrades and ends up in land fill.)

After a brief introduction , we’ll talk about design techniques and how to use colour and the shape of the components which make up an arrangement then you’ll be out in the cutting garden and fields, snipping flowers and foliage to make your own designs.

You’ll be making sustainable arrangements namely;

a natural hand tied bouquet including wrapping the flowers for a present using recyclable paper.

a table centre piece for a round table

a centrepiece for a long rectangular setting such as a dinner party

The day will include a seasonal lunch .  You will learn how to use garden material and bought in flowers (British where possible).

The intention of this workshop is to provide you with inspiration & the confidence to create your own amazing arrangements.
