This is a go-to workshop for DIY brides who would like to design their own natural, seasonal wedding flowers.

It is a practical, hands on course taught by Helen, a professional florist and flower grower, who will show you the skills of stress free easy wedding flower arranging. Something you will be very proud of.

After a brief introduction with coffee and home made cake, you’ll be out in the cutting garden and fields, snipping flowers and foliage to make your bouquets. Over the course of the day you will make a hand tied, natural bridal bouquet , matching buttonholes and a “compote style” wedding table centre piece all to take home. The day will include a large seasonal lunch .  You will learn how to keep within your budget, where to source your flowers and how to plan the lead up to your wedding so you finish everything a day early .

The intention of this workshop is to provide an inspiring and therapeutic day out but leave you armed with all the information and newly acquired flower arranging skills, ready to start preparing for the big day

Details Of The Day

9.45am Arrive for coffee, tea and cake, (including a gluten free one)

10.00am Intro and then a discussion about the style of wedding you are wanting to achieve i.e. rustic, bohemian, classical etc . Then a chat about colour and how to put together a mood board of ideas.

10.15am Afterward it’s off to the cutting garden to pick your relevant flowers and foliage. You’ll be making a natural hand tied loose bouquet including wrapping the handle with ribbons. Then Helen will show you how to make easy buttonholes which will coordinate with the bouquet.

11.00am A well earned coffee and tea break , with home made cakes.

12.00pm Talk about how to plan, buy and source your flowers. You’ll work out approximate costings and timings of your wedding week and then work backwards from the Big Day to make sure everything is prepared and stress free! You’ll learn how to keep your flowers fresh, how to transport your flowers and to be so organised you will have a free day before your wedding to sit back and relax!

1.00pm Light lunch.

2.00pm A demonstration of how to make a table compote for a round or long trestle table, (a compote is a like a very short pedestal, a bit like a cake stand, which gives enough height to show your arrangement but not intrusive, it’s bang on trend!).

You will then make your own table compote to suit the wedding reception venue. And finally Helen will discuss any other ideas such as arches, garlands …..

3.45pm Any questions or concerns

4.00pm Finish

From Louise Cardini

“My mum and I attended one of Helen's wedding flower workshops last weekend and it was brilliant! A lovely, relaxing day full of great tips and tuition, reassurance, loads of beautiful flowers and even delicious cake. I was worried I'd taken on too much by doing my wedding flowers myself but now I just feel excited and will hopefully be proud of the results. A really good fun and great value day which I would recommend to anyone even considering doing their own flowers. Thank you so much!!”
